Parrino’s Room

Projected and designed by Sæb, the mastering room measures 3.30 mt W x 3.80 mt H x 5.50 mt D and the acoustic treatment consists in 4 triangular bass traps designed with a sandwich shape, 8  absorption panels, 3 plasterboard walls filled with rock lane, 1 rock lane ceiling and Vicoustic absorbers and diffusers panels. In order to make this particular mastering room, 70 Kg/m3 rock lane have been used. The inside of the basstraps is filled with rocklane panels in a sandwich formation with OSB wood divided by 5 cm air gap. They measure 80 centimeters per side and 3.80 mt height. The absorption panels measures 2 mt H x 1 mt W x 25 cm D and the frames have been made with OSB wood. They are filled with double 6 cm depth rock lane (12 cm) and a 13 cm air gap on the back: this makes reflections bouncing between the lane and the wall increasing the dissipation efficency of the panel. These panels are located on the lateral walls at 1.25 mts from ground. 2 plasterboards filled with 4 cm depth rock lane are placed immediately under these panels. By its nature plasterboard vibrate on the rock lane dissipating sound reflections along the wall. The summing of these two differents kind of absorption on the lateral walls keeps a really good ratio between low, mid-lo and mid-hi frequencies absorption. In order to eliminate fluttering echoes, Vicoustic panels have been placed on the top corners of room’s front and back walls. Finally, first reflections on the top area of the room are absorbed by the ceiling panel placed on the room’s front area with a distance of 2.70 mts from the ground.
